Over Presidents' Day Weekend, a group of Elizabeth Seton and DeMatha students traveled to Camden, New Jersey for a weekend of service. The students visited the Romero Center, where they participated in a variety of service projects with the staff and residents of Camden.

Tamara Masciola '17 organized #Care4Camden, a week of awareness and fundraising activities at Seton to support the residents of Camden, New Jersey. Tamara participated in the Urban Challenge service retreat at the Romero Center in Camden last year, and was alarmed by the poverty and crime in this city. The trip inspired her to let Seton students know of Camden, and to raise funds for worthwhile agencies supporting the people of Camden.

Seton students viewed videos about Camden and were are invited to an after-school forum where students further discussed the plight of this impoverished city. Students purchased baked goods and wristbands during lunch, and donated for a dress down day to raise funds for the Camden community.
