It is with great pleasure that we announce the hiring of new faculty members who will join our community at Elizabeth Seton High School this year. These new faculty members will bring their own vibrancy to our school, and have been attracted to us by our rigorous academics, our commitment to the visual and performing arts and athletics, and our strong, Christ-centered community.
Our new Dance instructor, Tiffany Quinn, '00, comes to us via Howard University where she served as Co-Coordinator/Artist-in-Residence for the Department of Theatre Arts-Dance Arts program. She is also a graduate of of Howard, where she earned her B.A. in Dance. Additionally, Mrs. Quinn also works as a Teaching Artist for the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through The Arts.
We are delighted to have three new additions to our Science Department this year, all with extensive teaching experience.
Edith Damron joins the Science faculty to teach AP Environmental Science, Environmental Science and Biology. Mrs. Damron comes to Seton from The Academy of St. Matthias the Apostle where she taught, in addition to science, math and social studies. She also has experience in designing service opportunities and field studies in outdoor education and science for her students. She holds a B.S. in Systems Science/Business from the University of West Florida and a B.S. from Concordia University, where she studied math and Chemistry.
Also joining this team, Alexis Donoghue will teach multiple levels of Biology, including AP and Honors, and comes to us most recently from Eleanor Roosevelt High School. Mrs. Donoghue earned her B.S. in Biology from Catholic University. In addition to extensive teaching experience, Mrs. Donoghue also coordinated internships and summer science workshops for students.
Coit Hendley will be teaching AP Chemistry and Honors Chemistry, and also comes to us from Eleanor Roosevelt High School. He earned his B.A. in Chemistry from Cornell University, as well as his M.A. from the University of Maryland and has achieved National Board Certification and Recertification in Chemistry. In addition to extensive teaching experience, honors, and awards, Mr. Hendley has also shown commitment to the professional development of educators and scientists by leading workshops throughout the region.
Erica Doe will join us as the new Technology teacher. Our community will recall that Ms. Doe was a valued intern in the Guidance Office in 2012. Ms. Doe rejoins our community most recently from The Campagna Center where she has served as the Enrichment Specialist. A Fulbright Scholar in 2013, Ms. Doe earned her B.A. from Columbia University and her M.S.W. from Syracuse University.
In addition to her responsibilities as the Enrollment and Marketing Strategist, Alyssa Doherty joins the Social Studies Department as the Introduction to Law teacher. Ms. Doherty earned her B.A. from Pine Manor College, where she majored in English and Communications, and her J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law.
Finally, Gabrielle Smith will be joining the Guidance Office staff as a Guidance Intern, assisting with study skills and providing academic support to students. Ms. Smith obtained her B.A. from Duquesne University and is currently pursuing her M. Ed. in School Counseling from George Washington University.
These talented new teachers and staff members look forward to becoming part of our community and working with our students. We are delighted to welcome them to Elizabeth Seton High School!
